Seven players, one decision
According to the official WSOP history, seven invited players met in 1970. After playing a cash game, they voted. Johnny Moss became the first champion.
A familiar game, a different contest
The surprising part is the format. Playing poker and deciding how to award a championship are two separate choices. A game can use familiar cards and betting rules while the surrounding competition works very differently.
What to notice at our table
Simulator Lab lets you practise individual Texas Hold’em hands against bots. Blinds stay at the level you choose. It does not recreate the 1970 event or a modern tournament with rising blind levels.
